South Carolina's "garden spot" offers big city access.
Affectionately known as "The Emerald City," Greenwood, South Carolina offers an appealing combination of Carolina country charm with convenient access to city sophistication. Located in the center of South Carolina, there's an exciting array of places to enjoy within a 60-mile radius, including the capital city of Columbia. (See "Fast Facts" section for mileage.)
Each June, Greenwood hosts the South Carolina "Festival of Flowers," thanks to the Park Seed Company one of the world's largest horticultural companies. Throughout the year The Greenwood-Lander Performing Arts organization presents world-class performances that stimulate interest in the arts and enhance our quality of life.
Self Regional Hospital, located in Greenwood, is one of the largest healthcare services in the area and just 13 miles from the Summer Pointe entrance and well known for its quality vascular surgery, cancer center and heart center. One of the first questions you'll ask when you select a new home is "Where is the nearest hospital?" We're glad to answer that we have renowned care so close to home, along with the many medical care options in nearby Greenville, Anderson and Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The cities of Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Charleston, SC and Asheville, NC are all located within three hours of Greenwood and easily accessed by interstate. Air transportation to global destinations is available out of Columbia or Greenville International Airports.
Greenwood is also close to both the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Carolina coastline, including Myrtle Beach, Wild Dunes and Kiawah Island. Clearly, there are no limits to the pleasures of living in the central Carolina region.
